Hop Sun Summer Wheat from Southern Tier Brewing

By Don

One hot summer day while standing and lamenting at the beer coolers at Wegman's, one of the managers stepped up and said, "Can I help you find anything?"  I told him that I was just looking for an interesting new brew.

"Do you like hoppy beers?" he asked.  "Love 'em!" was my response.

That's when he proceeded to pull a six-pack of "Hop Sun" out of the cooler.  He said that it was his current favorite summer beer.

Hop Sun is a Summer Wheat Seasonal from the Southern Tier Brewing Company of Lakewood, New York.

It's not your typical Wheat Beer.  This one has a nice kick of hops.  It's a refreshing summer beer with good drinkability.  It's nicely carbonated and has a good head.  The best word that I can use to describe this one is "crisp."  It's has a real crisp taste with a little bite.

It's just 4.9% ABV and would be a nice brew to help you cool down after doing some summer yard work.
