Samuel Adams Holiday Porter from Boston Brewing Company

By Don (with Rick & Bud)

Another beer from our New Year's Day tasting was another offering from Sam Adams and another Porter!!!

Once again, just as with Honey Porter, we were pleasantly surprised by this Porter since we're not typically fans of Porters and Stouts.

Holiday Porter is a seasonal offering from Boston Brewing Company.  It's 5.8% ABV and you can find out more on their website.

It does pour like a typical Porter with a nice head and nice lacing on the glass.

It has a faint caramel-like aroma.  Once again, as with the Honey Porter, it doesn't taste as heavy as a typical Porter.  There's a spice taste.  It's a lighter, crisper Porter.

Holiday Porter is brewed with 3 different hop varieties including Fuggles.  Maybe that's what possessed Bud to say, "This one is be-fuggling me!"

Cheers!
