Another trip up to Vermont and the folks from Magic Hat. This one is from their "Odd Notion" Series. Their Winter '10 is a red ale.
I was getting ready to sit down and watch some March Madness NCAA basketball. I went out to the beer fridge and saw it ... Magic Hat Winter '10. Oh no! The vernal equinox is tomorrow! Spring is here! I've got to finish off the winter beer! :-)
Of course, the zany cats at Magic Hat have a multitude of surprises including a message under the cap. This one said, "More drink, more think."
Winter '10 pours and looks like a copper ale. It has good fizz - nicely carbonated with a minimal head that dissipated quickly.
There was a very faint fruity aroma.
This beer is what I would call 'crisp.' It has a nice bite in the back of the throat but leaves you with a sweet taste in your mouth.
It's a good drinking beer. It's just 6% ABV.
So, here's another one that you won't find anymore, but if you happen to find a bottle laying around somewhere. Pick up a Winter '10 and enjoy it this Spring!
