The Bitter End Pale Ale from Two Brothers Brewing

By Don

I went out the beer fridge tonight to pick something out to drink with dinner.  As I looked through my choices, I realized that I STILL had one of the beers left that Lori brought back from Chicago back in the summer!  I picked up the bottle and looked for a date.  It said, "Best by 11/28/10."  Whew!  Just in time!

Two Brothers Brewing Company in Suburban Chicago is a family owned and operated brewer.  One of their Year-Round beers is "The Bitter End Pale Ale."

The Bitter End has a nice bite, but it's only 30 IBU on the bitterness scale.  It's 5.2% ABV.

It pours to a nice caramel, amber color with a good frothy head that dissipates slowly and leaves some nice lacing on the glass.  There's a strong citrus aroma and you can taste those citrus hints when you take your first sip.

The Bitter End hits you in the back of your throat and hits you hard.  Then, it settles and gives you that nice hoppy, citrusy taste.  It's a well carbonated beer and has a bit of a 'zing' in your mouth.

So, the lesson here is to make sure you check your beer fridge on a regular basis.  You don't want anything to go past the freshness date!

Cheers!
