I reviewed a summer offering from Lancaster Brewing Company and now it's time for their Winter Warmer. This was another one from my recent "Mix Pack" of Winter beers.
This one pours to a nice bronze color. It had a minimal head that dissipated quickly.
According to their website, Winter Warmer is their classic "Olde Ale" and it's available from October through February. It's 8.9% ABV.
I got some hints of caramel, coffee and chocolate. It has a nice warming feeling going down.
As far as the mouthfeel goes, it has a bit of a coating feeling in your mouth like a Porter.
I would call Winter Warmer a good drinking beer. While it gives you a nice warming feeling, you can still take some good gulps. Or you can just sit by the fire and sip.
Good stuff from Southeastern PA!!!
Cheers!
